On Friday 24th February, Charlie (Chairperson) and Steven (Homelessness Prevention) Met with Emma Hardy MP for Hull West and Hessle for extremely productive talks.
We talked about the need to detoxify the conversations around Trans and Non Binary people, the need to bring down the number of hate crimes, and ways to combat rampant misinformation.
Emma showed real willingness, and wanted, to listen to our concerns, address her own, and also suggested that we meet with her every 3-4 months or so, which is really very encouraging.
We will always seek to work with those who have established power to effect change, and we welcome Emma to our extended Hull Pledge family, working to make Hull a safer place for LGBTQIA+ people.
If you as LGBTQIA+ people have concerns you wish to be raised with Hull's MPs you can always contact Hull Pledge and we can address them on your behalf! Email us at info@hullpledge.org
